Call for papers: Human Rights Week (listopad 2021 r.)

Uniwersytet w Genewie wraz z Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights współorganizują po raz kolejny kolokwium z serii Human Rights Week, w tym roku poświęcone dyskryminacji i nierównościom. Wydarzenie odbędzie się w dniach 25-26 listopada 2021 r.

Tematy, które zostaną poruszone podczas kolokwium to m.in.:

1. Discriminations against specific groups

2. Discriminations in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic

3. Discrimination in armed conflicts, counter-terrorism and state of emergencies

Zaproszenie do udziału w wydarzeniu jest skierowane do osób do 10 lat po uzyskaniu doktoratu.

Planowana jest publikacja pokonferencyjna.

Kolokwium będzie miało charakter hybrydowy. Organizatorzy są w stanie dofinansować koszty podróży i zakwaterowania niektórych z uczestników, którzy wezmą fizyczny udział w konferencji.

Zgłoszenia (abstrakt do 500 słów, notka biograficzna do 100 słów i 5 słów kluczowych) należy przesyłać do 7 czerwca.

Redakcja International Journal of Discrimination and the Law zaprasza do nadsyłania artykuł do numeru specjalnego pt. "COVID-19: Lessons for and from Vulnerability Theory". Teksty mogą w szczególności odpowiadać na następujące pytania:

• How has the state’s historical conceptions of vulnerability impacted on its responses to the current pandemic? 
• Has the focus on ‘particularised bodies’ limited state responses to Covid-19? 
• What has the pandemic revealed about the current construction of social relationships and institutions and how might a vulnerability approach be used in response?
• What do state responses to Covid-19 tell us about the current construction of the human body in legal and policy frameworks? 
• What does the pandemic tell us about the role of legal subjectivity in constructing the relationships and institutions that order society for everyone? 
• What has the pandemic exposed regarding who bears the burdens for the social reproduction of society and its institutions and how might this be impacted in future? 
• What might the crisis mean for reimagining the ‘responsive state’?

Artykuły (8.000-10.000 słów) należy przesyłać do 31 października.
