Call for papers: International Organizations’ Action in Times of COVID-19: Law-Making by Expertise and Soft Law (Sztokholm, wrzesień 2021 r.)

ESIL Interest Groups on International Organizations oraz on International Health Law organizują warsztaty pt. "International Organizations’ Action in Times of COVID-19: Law-Making by Expertise and Soft Law", które odbędą się podczas dorocznej konferencji ESIL mającej miejsce w tym roku w Sztokholmie 8 września.

Organizatorzy są zainteresowani w szczególności następującymi tematami:

Expertise:

• The relevance of expertise in law-making processes led by international institutions for facing COVID-19, both in normative and practical terms.
• The challenges of involving experts in such law-making processes during the COVID-19 pandemic in terms of the mandate, structure and procedures of international institutions. Are these institutions fit for involving experts in such processes?
• The implications of international institutions’ reliance on expertise in law making processes for their legitimacy and authority before States and peoples during COVID-19. How much can, and should, international organizations rely on expertise to the prejudice of other factors?
• How legitimacy is constructed through suppositions about expert-led law-making practices for facing pandemic threats.
• The interplay between scientific knowledge and international adjudication, especially in the trade arena, in terms of enhancing the authority of institutional law (broadly defined), especially when facing restrictions on the import and export of medical products.

Soft Law:

• The role and contribution of ‘soft law’ in governance, perhaps in strengthening or encouraging commitment to norms.
• Reflections on the relevance or nature of soft law for finding solutions to global health problems currently not envisaged in legally binding rules. A notable example is the holistic perspective towards pandemic risk of the “One Health” approach.
• The varying legal and political authority of different actors involved in the production and implementation of soft law.

International Organizations Interest Group działająca przy American Society of International Law zaprasza do przesyłania abstraktów na warsztaty poświęcone badaniom nad organizacjami międzynarodowymi, które odbędą się online 19 lutego 2021 r. 

Organizatorzy są w szczególności zainteresowani następującymi tematami:

Uniwersytet w Kopenhadze, w ramach projektu " Laying the Foundations – The League of Nation and International Law, 1919-1945" zaprasza na konferencję pt. "The League of Nations and International law, 1919-1945", która odbędzie się w dniach 13-14 czerwca 2019 r.
Propozycje wystąpień powinny poruszać następujące tematy:

• How the League of Nation system, including the ILO and the Permanent Court of International Justice, shaped the development of international law. 
• The role of law, legal techniques and jurists in the institutional and administrative development of the League of Nation system. 
• The role of law and legal techniques in the development of LoN policies and regulatory efforts. 
• The professionalisation of academics and practitioners of international law 
• Network or biographical approaches to exploring the key actors of the legal history of League of Nation system.

Call for submissions: 75th Anniversary Issue of International Organization

Do 15 marca 2018 r. można nadsyłać artykuły do specjalnego, jubileuszowego wydania czasopisma "International Organization". Redaktorzy wskazali, że interesują ich artykuły, mające trzy cechy:

• problem-driven, in the sense that they begin with and focus on current challenges to the liberal international order; 
• theory-driven, with the aim to assess what our theories tell us about the challenges;
• agenda-setting, not stock-taking papers but efforts to define the research agenda for the future.

Autorzy powinni przesyłać abstrakty swoich tekstów (do trzech stron) za pomocą internetowego formularza. Na podstawie kilkustopniowej procedury wyłaniania najlepszych propozycji, ich autorzy zostaną zaproszeni do przesłania pełnych tekstów, które ukażą się w jubileuszowym wydaniu.

Organizatorzy zainteresowani są w szczególności następującą tematyką:

• What specific advantages do different approaches bring to the history of international organizations?

Katedra UNESCO Prawa Ochrony Dóbr Kultury na Uniwersytecie Kazimierza Wielkiego w Bydgoszczy

W wrześniu 2016 r. na Uniwersytecie Kazimierza Wielkiego w Bydgoszczy zacznie działać Katedra UNESCO Prawa Ochrony Dóbr kultury (UNESCO Chair in Cultural Property Legal Studies). Kierownikiem jej będzie dr Alicja Jagielska-Burduk.

Call for Rapporteurs: Oxford International Organizations

Wydawnictwo Oxford University Press we współpracy z Manchester International Law Centre przygotowuje nową bazę danych obejmującą dokumenty dotyczące działalności organizacji międzynarodowych. W tym kontekście wydawnictwo poszukuje osób zainteresowanych w tworzeniu takiej bazy (rapporteurs). Współpraca z wydawnictwem będzie polegała na identyfikacji odpowiednich dokumentów oraz przygotowaniem komentarzy do nich (według wzoru określonego przez wydawnictwo). Wydawnictwo przewidziało skromne wynagrodzenia za opublikowanie każdego dokumentu.

Ogłoszenie to jest skierowane przede wszystkim do aktualnych doktorantów oraz młodych doktorów.

Uniwersytet w Heidelbergu ogłosił właśnie call for papers dotyczący konferencji zatytułowanej „8th Annual Conference on the Political Economy of International Organizations”, która odbędzie się na Hertie School of Governance (Berlin) w dniach 14-15 luty 2015 r.

Call for papers: Prawo organizacji międzynarodowych wobec wyzwań współczesnego świata (maj 2014)

Katedra Prawa Międzynarodowego Publicznego i Prawa Europejskiego oraz Fundacja Wydziału Prawa i Administracji Uniwersytetu Śląskiego "Facultas Iuridica" serdecznie zapraszają do udziału w ogólnopolskiej konferencji naukowej "Prawo organizacji międzynarodowych wobec wyzwań współczesnego świata", która będzie również stanowić spotkanie Katedr Prawa Międzynarodowego Publicznego i Prawa Europejskiego. 

Konferencja odbędzie się w dniach 14-16 maja 2014 r. w Hotelu Jura w Kroczycach (Jura Krakowsko-Częstochowska). Opłata konferencyjna wynosi 650 zł. Zgłoszenia wraz z propozycją referatu można przesyłać do dnia 15 lutego 2014 r., a opłatę konferencyjną należy wpłacić do dnia 28 lutego 2014 r.
