Call for papers: Workshop "Taking Stock of Global Constitutionalism – To What Extent did it Really Change International Law?" (Amsterdam, listopad 2018 r.)

Do 15 czerwca br. można przesyłać zgłoszenia na warsztaty zatytułowane "Taking Stock of Global Constitutionalism – To What Extent did it Really Change International Law?", które odbędą się w dniu 29 listopada 2018 r. w Amsterdamie, jako część konferencji Research School Ius Commune.

Cele warsztatów określono następująco: Over the past twenty years or so the study of international law has been confronted with an abundant attention for ‘constitutionalism’. The main reason was that international law had changed, at least in the eyes of its observers. No longer was international law a law between states; it had become a law within states, with a clear impact on individuals, for example rules on terrorism and on climate change. This workshop aims to collect papers that either clearly confirm that these developments (or at least our perception of them) have indeed changed the nature and/or the study of international law, or that argue that in the end nothing really changed in the nature or the study of international law.

Call for papers: Constitutional Identity and Social Memories in Central and Estern Europe (Timișoara, maj 2018 r.)

W dniach 3-4 maja 2018 r. w Timișoara (Rumunia) odbędzie się konferencja pt. "Constitutional Identity and Social Memories in Central and Estern Europe". 

Organizatorzy są zainteresowani propozycjami wystąpień dotyczącymi zwłaszcza następujących zagadnień:

• the relationship between constitutional identity and specific political institutions;
• the political dimension of constitutional identity;
• the notion of the constitutional “people”;
• social mechanisms of selection of memories;
• legal regulations of collective memories;
• collective memories in constitutional adjudication;
• social frames of collective memories;
• conflicts between collective memories;
• constitution and religion in Central and Eastern Europe;
• the impact of World War II and the communist period on constitutional and national identities;
• the role of national identity in nationality laws (for instance, the cases of Latvia and Estonia, where Russian residents did not become automatically nationals of the new republics);

Z wielką przyjemnością informujemy, że nakładem wydawnictwa Routledge ukazała się książka z konferencji organizowanej w 2013 roku przez INP PAN Constitutionalisation and Fragmentation of International Law Revisited (nasze ogłoszenia tu i tu).

Call for Papers: Global Constitutionalism without Global Democracy (Florencja, styczeń 2016)

Europejski Instytut Uniwersytecki (EUI) we Florencji we współpracy z PluriCourts (Oslo) ogłosił call for papers dotyczący warsztatów jakie zostaną zorganizowane na EUI w dniach od 14 do 15 stycznia 2016 r. Temat warsztatów to „Global Constitutionalism without Global Democracy”.
