Call for papers: The Protection of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in the ‘Age of Exits’: Challenges and Perspectives (Haga, listopad 2019 r.)

Journal Constitutional Review, we współpracy z indonezyjskim Sądem Konstytutcyjnym i Hague University of Applied Sciences organizują konferencję pt. "The Protection of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in the ‘Age of Exits’: Challenges and Perspectives", która odbędzie się w dniach 21-22 listopada br. w Hadze.Wystąpienia konferencyjne mogą dotyczyć następujących tematów:
  • Critical approaches to ESC rights
  • ESC rights: Aspirational Goals or Actual Human rights?
  • Individuals as right-holders and duty-bearers of ESC rights
  • The role of domestic constitutional courts in the protection of ESC rights
  • Margin of Appreciation and the Principle of Proportionality in ESC rights jurisprudence; challenges and ways forward
  • The role of international and regional monitoring organs in the protection of ECS rights
  • Standards of protection in international, regional and domestic systems
  • Housing as a human right: challenges and successes
  • Ensuring access to water for all
  • Challenges in safeguarding social and economic rights in welfare systems undergoing privatization
  • Cultural Rights in peace and war time
  • ESC Rights: the collective v. individual approach
  • ESC Rights and sustainable development
  • Cultural rights: between universality and diversity?

Call for papers: EU Trade Agreements and the Duty to Respect Human Rights Abroad (Haga, grudzień 2019 r.)

W dniu 11 grudnia br. w Hadze odbędą się warsztaty współorganizowane przez T.M.C. Asser Institute, Centre for the Law of EU External Relations oraz ESIL Interest Group "EU as a Global Actor" pt. "EU Trade Agreements and the Duty to Respect Human Rights Abroad". Propozycje wystąpień konferencyjnych powinny dotyczyć następujących zagadnień:
  • Is the EU bound to respect human rights extraterritorially when it concludes trade agreements with third countries, and if so, what is the legal basis for this duty? 
  • To what extent are Art. 3(5) and 21 TEU relevant in the context of the debate regarding the EU’s extraterritorial human rights obligations? 
  • To what extent is international law relevant in the context of the debate regarding the EU’s extraterritorial human rights obligations? 
  • How can other areas of international law (such as due diligence, responsibility of international organisations) have an impact on the debate regarding the EU’s extraterritorial human rights obligations?

Call for applications: CIIL Workshop for Junior International Lawyers 2019: Methodological Challenges in International Legal Research (Haga, lipiec 2019 r.)

Chinese Initiative on International Law organizuje 11 lipca br. w Hadze konferencję dla młodych naukowców i prawników pt. "Methodological Challenges in International Legal Research". 
W czasie konferencji mają zostać poruszone następujące problemy:
  • What is your research question and methodological approach? Has that approach remained constant or evolved over time?
  • Are there any major pieces of work which are relevant to your methodological approach?
  • How useful have they been?
  • How has the process of research proceeded? What has been your biggest success and problem?
  • Has your research raised questions about the nature of legal methodology for you?
  • How have issues of methodology impacted upon your research question?
