Herbert Smith Freehills China International Business and Economic Law (CIBEL) Centre organizuje online serię paneli poświęconych tematyce "COVID-19 and international economic law: China and a changing world", które odbędą się od 25 czerwca do 3 sierpnia.
Wystąpienia mogą dotyczyć w szczególności problematyki:
  • The future of international economic law after COVID-19: China and (de)globalization
  • COVID-19: will competition law and policy revert to the status quo? 
  • COVID-19 and digitalisation of dispute resolution 
  • How can corporate law help technology under the pandemic? 
  • Intellectual property and COVID-19 
  • The global pandemic and investment law
Zgłoszenia (abstrakt do 500 słów) można przesyłać do 22 czerwca br.
Dodatkowo młodzi naukowcy mogą przesyłać propozycje referatów na dowolny temat, związany z badaniami prowadzonymi przez CIBEL. Specjalna sesja dla młodych naukowców jest przewidziana na 20 sierpnia.
Organizatorzy planują wydanie publikacji pokonferencyjnej.

Call for papers: Ethical Governance of Surveillance Technologies in Times of Crisis: Global Challenges and Divergent Perspectives (online, październik/listopad 2020 r.)

Utrecht Centre for Global Challenges organizuje warsztaty online pt. "Ethical Governance of Surveillance Technologies in Times of Crisis: Global Challenges and Divergent Perspectives". Przewidziane są dwie sesje referatów - w dniach 30 października i 5 listopada. 
Wystąpienia mogą dotyczyć następującej tematyki:
  • Politics and science: What are the roles of expertise and scientific narrative in changing the use of surveillance technologies in times of crisis?
  • Human rights and ethics: How can human rights and/or ethics provide effective limits to the governance of surveillance technologies in times of crisis?
  • Language and culture: What roles, if any, do cultural and/or linguistic factors play in the use of surveillance technologies in times of crisis?
Zgłoszenia (300-500 słów) należy przesyłać do 15 lipca br.

Call for papers: Imperial Artefacts: History, Law, and the Looting of Cultural Property (Lejda, styczeń 2021 r.)

W dniach 28-29 stycznia 2021 r. w Lejdzie odbędzie się konferencja pt. "Imperial Artefacts: History, Law, and the Looting of Cultural Property". 
Organizatorzy są zainteresowani w szczególności następującymi tematami wystąpień:
- Histories of specific cases of misappropriation, of colonial violence, of how objects travelled and ended up in Western museums and archives (provenance)
- Histories of the laws of war in colonial contexts in legal practice and in legal theory
- Histories of domestic constitutional and private law concerning restitution
- Histories of the actors involved: imperials agents, indigenous resistance to spoliation, NGO’s, etc.
- Museology: how are colonial objects framed, styled and/or contextualised
- Historiography: histories of the critical debate concerning law, colonial museums and restitution
- De lege ferenda: how can/should legal restitution move forward?
- (Post)colonial debates on the restitution of heritage objects
- Interconnectedness of identity and historical artefacts
- Experience with restitutions concerning art looted by Nazis and its (possible) impact on restituting looted colonial art.
Zgłoszenia (abstrakt 250-300 słów, jednostronicowe CV lub krótka notka biograficzna) należy przesyłać do 31 sierpnia br. na adres d.m.s.m.natermann@hum.leidenuniv.nl.
Przewidywana jest publikacja pokonferencyjna.
Organizatorzy zastrzegają, że, w zależności od rozwoju pandemii, konferencja może odbyć się w trybie online lub zostać przesunięta na późniejszy termin.

Redakcja International Journal of Human Rights in Healthcare czeka na zgłoszenia do numeru specjalnego czasopisma pt. "Human rights in healthcare during COVID-19 and other pandemics".
Artykuły mogą dotyczyć m.in. następujących zagadnień:
  • Communication and media in the context of human rights and healthcare (e.g., media and privacy rights of patients, framing of COVID-19 in the media, and the right to health information).
  • Vulnerable human rights during pandemics (e.g. freedom of expression, freedom from discrimination, freedom from arbitrary arrests, right against torture, cruel, and other inhuman treatment or punishment) and the scope of the health during state of health emergencies.
  • Human rights-based state practices during pandemics.
  • Civil society mobilization and activism for human rights during COVID-19 (e.g. practices of human rights organizations and watchdogs, experiences of volunteer civic organizations)
  • Ethical issues in healthcare practice and research during COVID-19

Czasopismo Arab Law Quaterly zaprasza do nadsyłania zgłoszeń dotyczących prawa islamu i współczesnego międzynarodowego porządku prawnego. 
Artykuły (7.500-13.000 słów) należy przesyłać do 14 sierpnia br. na adres hamoudi@pitt.edu.
Jeden lub więcej autorów artykułów zostanie dodatkowo zaproszonych do wygłoszenia referatu podczas 2021 Association of American Law Schools Annual Meeting, które odbędzie się w San Francisco.

Wydział Prawa Singapore Management University organizuje w dniu 10 września br. konferencję poświęconą wpływowi pandemii koronawirusa na prawo publiczne i prywatne.
Organizatorzy są zainteresowani zwłaszcza następującymi tematami:
1. In public law 
● Checks and balances on the creation and use of emergency powers 
● Challenges to domestic and international legal frameworks and institutions 
● Perspectives on the legitimacy of public power exercised in response to the pandemic 
● The role of public institutions in norm-setting and power-checking during the pandemic 
2. In private law 
● Adaptations of established legal doctrines, for instance, force majeure and frustration 
● State intervention in the resolution of private disputes 
● The exceptional displacement of (pre-agreed) risk allocation mechanisms 
● Historical comparisons of the pandemic and its future implications for private law
