About the Position:
The U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY is an academic institution located in the Hudson River Valley, 50 miles from New York City. The historic site is the oldest continuously occupied military post in America. West Point is a self contained city with housing, a Department of Public Works, libraries, hospital, fire department, chapels, and restaurants. Employees have access to Eisenhower Hall Theater, Hudson Valley's performing arts center, and recreational facilities.

Responsibilities

• You will provide support to the Law and Legal Studies Program.

• You will teach courses on International and Comparative Law to undergraduate students.

• You will lead research projects that will support Department margin of excellence programs focused on cadet education and intellectual advancement in the area of international law.

• You will participate in drafting, editing, and publishing departmental online and in print publications.

W tym roku po raz pierwszy ma zostać przyznana Global Jurist Award, której zdobywca zostanie wyłoniony w konkursie na esej pt. “2030: a new horizon for International Economic Law?”.

Udział w konkursie mogą wziąć zarówno absolwenci, jak i studenci prawa, ekonomii i innych kierunków nauk społecznych.

Do 30 września br. osoby zainteresowane mogą przesyłać abstrakty proponowanych tekstów (do 500 słów) do pracy zbiorowej pt. "Labour Migration in the time of COVID-19: Inequalities and Perspectives for Change". 

Tematy, które mogą poruszać tekty to m.in.:

• The effectiveness of international human rights law in providing remedies to the vulnerability of migrant workers in the time of COVID-19 to xenophobia and discrimination 
• The impact of the current pandemic on EU immigration policies in the field of labour migration, including on the availability of legal routes of labour migration and on the possibility for migrant workers to move freely within the EU territory 
• The capability of relevant international and EU law sources to ensure the respect of migrant workers’ socio-economic rights during the COVID-19 pandemic and in its aftermath 
• The impact of the pandemic on the phenomenon of trafficking for the purpose of labour exploitation, including on state obligations in this field and on migrants’ actual possibilities to seek legal protections against this crime 
• The eventually peculiar effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on certain categories of migrant workers (domestic workers, agricultural workers, seasonal workers and so forth).
