You may apply for a placement in one of the three organs of the Court: Chambers/Presidency, Office of the Prosecutor or the Registry. However, your application may also be considered by Divisions not expressly chosen by you. 2 / 2

What is the application process?

Applications are received in response to vacancy announcements published on the eRecruitment system of the Court and within the deadlines stipulated therein (https://www.icc-cpi.int/jobs/Pages/internships-and-Visiting-Professionals.aspx). The vacancy announcement will outline the specific requirements for the placement.

Please fill in the online ICC application form and upload the supporting material, as indicated. If official documentation, such as university degrees or transcripts, are not available in English or French, please submit a complete and accurate translation into English or French, together with a copy of the original document. Incomplete applications cannot be considered.

Candidates may apply in response to several vacancy announcements; however, only one placement offer can be accepted. Candidates who have completed an internship or visiting professional placement at the Court are not considered for a second placement with the Court.

The application will be processed and forwarded to the sections for which you applied. Only successful candidates will be contacted in writing.

In Chambers, placements are offered, in general, for the time period 1 October to 31 March and 1 April to 30 September. Please note that candidates may also be recruited outside the aforementioned selection cycles, if necessary.

Are internships or visiting professional placements remunerated?

Unfortunately, the Court does not fund internships or visiting professional placements (unless expressly provided for in the vacancy announcement). Candidates are encouraged to secure funding through other means. Living costs in The Hague are estimated to range between 800 and 1000 Euros/month.
