Wkrótce otwarcie konkursu MNiSW Mobilność Plus V

Zwykle nie publikujemy tego typu ogłoszeń. Tym razem robimy jednak wyjątek bo program oferowany przez Ministerstwo Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego (MNiSW) daje fantastyczną możliwość prowadzenia badań (w tym i oczywiście z zakresu prawa międzynarodowego) w najlepszych zagranicznych ośrodkach badawczych. 

Od 2 stycznia 2017 r. do 15 marca 2017 r. trwa nabór wniosków w ramach V edycji konkursu Mobilność Plus. Celem konkursu jest finansowanie zagranicznych pobytów uczestników programu, w celu udziału w badaniach naukowych lub pracach rozwojowych realizowanych w zagranicznych ośrodkach naukowych przez młodych naukowców, którzy nie ukończyli 35. roku życia. 

Zagraniczny wyjazd może trwać od 6 do 36 miesięcy. Laureaci konkursu będą mieli zapewnione pokrycie kosztów podróży do zagranicznego ośrodka naukowego oraz stosunkowo wysokie stypendium. Termin rozpoczęcia zagranicznego pobytu uczestnika programu powinien przypadać nie wcześniej niż na dzień 1 stycznia 2018 r.

Adresatami konkursu są młodzi naukowcy, którzy w momencie składania wniosku nie ukończyli 35. roku życia i którzy są zatrudnionymi w jednostce naukowej na podstawie umowy o pracę lub mianowania:

• pracownikami naukowymi lub naukowo-dydaktycznymi
• uczestnikami studiów doktoranckich.

Call for papers: Współczesne prawo międzynarodowe - idee a rzeczywistość (Międzyzdroje, maj 2017)

Katedra Prawa Międzynarodowego Publicznego WPiA Uniwersytetu Szczecińskiego zaprasza do udziału w ogólnopolskiej konferencji naukowej zatytułowanej "Współczesne prawo międzynarodowe - idee a rzeczywistość", połączonej ze zjazdem Katedr i Zakładów Prawa Międzynarodowego. Konferencja odbędzie się w dniach od 17 do 19 maja 2017 r. w Międzyzdrojach. Organizatorzy planują dwa bloki tematyczne: (i) prawo międzynarodowe wobec wyzwań dla społeczności oraz (ii) wyzwania dla współczesnego prawa międzynarodowego.

Nagrody Manfreda Lachsa

Z pewnym opóźnieniem chcieliśmy poinformować o wynikach tegorocznej XII edycji konkursu imienia Manfreda Lachsa dla autorów najlepszych publikacji książkowych z dziedziny prawa międzynarodowego opublikowanych w kraju lub za granicą w 2015 r.

W kategorii kolejnych monografii nagrodę otrzymał prof. Jerzy Kranz za książkę pt. "Pojęcie suwerenności we współczesnym prawie międzynarodowym", Dom Wydawniczy Elipsa, Warszawa: 2015. W kategorii debiutów nagrodę otrzymał nasz redakcyjny kolega Andrzej Jakubowski za książkę pt. "State Succession in Cultural Property", Oxford University Press, Oxford: 2015.

Wydział Prawa Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca zaprasza do udziału w konferencji zatytułowanej "Exploring the human element of the oceans: the gender implications of the law of the sea", która odbędzie się w dniach od 25 do 26 maja 2017 r. w Mediolanie. Organizatorzy są szczególnie zainteresowani następującymi tematami:

• International law of the sea and gender. Is the law of the sea gender neutral? Could/should feminist legal theory engage more with the topic? Would law of the sea benefit from such an analytical approach?
• Torture, sexual abuses and trafficking at sea. Human trafficking, forced labour and slavery are endemic phenomena in the fisheries sector in some geographical areas; men and women, often due to their ethnicity, are sold and forced to work under physical and psychological threat. Women are the most vulnerable subject to torture, rape and sexual abuses. Do existing international norms adequately address the issue? What is peculiar about torture and sexual abuses when they occur at sea? Does international human rights law constitute a sufficient ground to tackle issues faced by women at sea or does it reinforce the depiction of women as victims rather than active participants within the international law of the sea framework?
• The fisheries sector. Women constitute a major force in the small-scale sector of fisheries and aquaculture, yet their contribution is often deemed as informal, making women invisible. Furthermore, women are particularly vulnerable to international policies and deals that push towards the large-scale commercial sector. In its recent General Recommendation no. 34, the CEDAW Committee has called on State parties to integrate a gender perspective in their development policies and strategies, including the aquaculture and fishery sector. Does the current international legal framework provide adequate protection? What can we say about the role played by CEDAW? What about rural women and their contribution in the small-scale fishery industry?
• Empowerment. Is there adequate access for women to the maritime sector? What tools, if any, are in place to favour their integration? What can international law say about the lack of women as members of national navies?
• Participation. How can women participate as policy makers and stakeholders in the maritime sector? Does the process of policy making adequately engage with women? Does the current legal framework reflect roles and participation of women in the maritime sector or does it ignore its gender implications?

School of Law at the University of Portsmouth oraz European University Institute zapraszają do udziału w konferencji zatytułowanej Human Dignity and the Constitutional Crisis in Europe: Humanity, Democracy, Social Europe", która odbędzie się w dniach 15-16 czerwca 2017 r. we Florencji. Organizatorzy podzieli tematykę na trzy obszary:

• Protecting Humanity: Inclusion, Identity, and Difference (How have dignity and human rights norms been deployed to challenge measures that seek to exclude and contain difference? Is the constitutional commitment to respect human dignity related to measures (such as border protection policies) that have been taken to create a cordon sanitaire - designed to safeguard the European (and national) identity? If so, in what ways? In what ways has dignity been used in assimilationist policies and laws (such as the ban on the veil) that guarantee inclusion by requiring adjustment to dominant (European/national) cultural norms and values? What kind of constitutional order is required to effectively protect the rights of humanity and guarantee the 'right to have rights'? What is the interrelation between human dignity, citizenship, national identity and European civilization?
• Defining Democracy: Authoritarianism, Constitutional Reform, and Self-Determination (Is liberal democracy the only governance model compatible with dignity? Could states transition to an “illiberal” (or, perhaps, “less liberal”) regime, whilst remaining genuinely committed to respecting dignity? Does dignity impose a positive state obligation to maintain certain institutional and structural arrangements in which it can be effectively protected? Can / should dignity act as a legal constraint on the will of majorities when establishing a new constitutional regime? If so, what is the theoretical and normative justification for the role of dignity in limiting democratic decision-making powers? Must a certain core of dignity form part of the constitutional identity of a European state? Can states shape their constitutional identity in a way that impinges on that core? Is the imposition of measures that disregard or directly oppose the popular will of a nation state an affront to the dignity of its people? Is dignity inherently linked to participatory democracy? What is the relationship between human dignity and constitutional reforms that aim to restrict democratic freedoms in order to protect the dignity of the nation, groups, or communities (e.g. Article IX of the Fundamental Law of Hungary)?)
• Realising Social Europe: Austerity, Welfare, and Solidarity (How have dignity, and fundamental rights, been (or not been) used to challenge austerity measures that have deteriorated living and working conditions? Should the constitutional commitment to dignity at the national and supranational level demand a greater degree of solidarity with the most vulnerable within and across borders? Does the meaningful protection of dignity require a stronger constitutional foundation for social rights?  Can dignity inspire a new (and better) vision for a social Europe than has so far been advanced? Should the constitutional protection of dignity be kept out of the socioeconomic sphere, and limited to the role of constraining the power of the state? Are there obligations to future generations deriving from the constitutional protection of dignity that must be taken into consideration in the agreement of austerity packages?)
